Two weeks out! I am both relieved and remain anxious at the same time. The relief stems from my recent visa application to the French Consulate in Atlanta that went seamlessly. All that's left to do now is wait for my visa to come by mail!
That, and pack. I finished packing most of my winter clothes yesterday... and my suitcase is already full. I'm sure you can imagine packing your life in a suitcase for four very different seasons of weather is quite difficult. Summer, fall, and spring clothes are a little bit less bulky, right? Well, that's what I'm hoping for.
After my last French sejour, I've learned that keeping suitcase weight to a minimum is essential. My plan is to pack early (now) and weed out clothing items as my departure gets closer and I have more time to think it through. I will NOT bring more than a large suitcase and carry-on. Plus, I have to leave room for all the fun stuff I will be purchasing while in France!
I plan to fill these last 2 weeks in America with family, friends, planning, organizing, and working. I cannot afford to be ill-prepared for anything that comes my way when I get to Paris (financially or otherwise)! I am so looking forward to my trip! The biggest obstacle that stands in my way is saying goodbye to the ones I love-really not excited about those moments... But sacrifice is often mandatory when following dreams.
